Make a Pint of GAPS Friendly Applesauce
I used a gala and two red delicious apples and it make a pint of applesauce. You can use any three organic apples you want. You can make more, just use a bigger stock pot if you do, you want something wide so the water evenly covers at least 3/4 of the apples. You can always evaporate any excess water by turning up the heat the last few minutes. Do not burn the apples in the pan, this will make your applesauce yucky. It is important to watch your apples carefully so they do not burn in the pan. Apples should be soft when done. Let them cool before sticking them in your blender or food processor. About 10 minutes should be enough cooling time.
2 large organic red delicious apples
1 cup filtered water
1 tsp of freshly ground cinnamon
sprinkle of salt
Cut the apples into roughly 1-inch chunks.
Place apples in a 3-quart saute pan.
Squeeze the 1/2 lemon over them.
Sprinkle some salt over the apples.
Sprinkle on the cinnamon.
Add the cup of water, mix gently and bring to a boil.
Once boiled, lower heat and simmer 20-30 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes.
Place them in your Blender. (Add a little filter water if necessary, not much.)
Blend to desired consistency.
Place in pint glass jar.
