Amazon sent my 12th payment for $266.89. I have actually quit selling on Amazon, but this is just leftover inventory from months ago. This is all slower turning inventory from my thrift store shopping. I haven't shipped a box in I don't even know how long, it's been over a month I believe. My last payment was a little more but not bad for a chick who isn't sending anything into the warehouse anymore!
I am still paying the $40 a month fee to be a pro seller but I'm not sure that I will continue to pay that next month. If I cancel the pro seller account, I don't get paid every two weeks like I used too, that kinda blows. Amazon holds your money longer if you are an individual seller which kinda sucks! I'm not sure what I'm going to do right now, stay tuned. Right now I'm busy cleaning up my mess over at Zujava; in light of their recent Amazon restriction.
I made a total of $74.36 for the month of August in ShareaSale. This was for July 2014 commissions earned. I earned about $15 more this month than I did last month and what's really funny about that is I didn't even think I was going to make this payout and I even said so in my last blog post. You need a minimum of $50 to get a payment from ShareaSale and I only had about $30 by the 20th of last month, sales really picked up that last week in July! Halleluiah!
This month is looking really good, I'm already at $100 for the month of August. Sales usually pick up around back to school time that's why I think I'm seeing an increase over last month already which is good because I could use the money right?! Amen! Thank you Lord!
WOW! What a week of news for the online writing community, first Squidoo shuts its doors and now I find out that Zujava has lost their Amazon Associates account. Now I make about $200 a month on Zujava between my affiliate income from them and my Share-a-sale commissions so that was a little bit of a blow to the gut. I will still get to keep whatever I made on Share-a-Sale through my own links but anything I had on Zujava through their Amazon links is gone. Yep! GONE! I won't be getting paid for my sales that I made for the month of May until now. Holy turd buckets Batman, that sucks!
What? No Payments! That Sucks!
Time to hop up on that hamster wheel again...?
Zujava says they won't be going anywhere but I'm not really sure how they can sustain themselves without their biggest affiliate income? As far as my Zujava leaves, I plan to hop up on the hamster wheel and start moving all my leaves off their site... I hate to do it but they will probably end up tanking like Squidoo did. I will move a lot of my content over to my blogs and delete whatever I don't need.
After Squidoo's torture for the last two years and now Zujava is headed down the same path, I'm going to be staying off these types of sites. It always sucks not getting paid from a website, I was doing pretty good with my Zujava earnings every month, but at least its not enough to really sink my business! I will continue to work on my own websites and towards building multiple streams of income so that when stuff like this happens, I'm still up and running in other places.
HubPages is acquiring key content from Squidoo...
Or in other words ... "Squidoo sold you out, you have a couple weeks to move your stuff!"
It was only a matter of time...
Talk about a vicious hamster wheel of abuse this last year...
Squidoo basically just wasted everyone's time on that meaningless crap, didn't they?
Is there life after Squidoo?
I got my 11th Amazon FBA payment, it was for $274.46. That's about $75 less than the last payment. I did have to pay the $39.99 fee this time around, so that takes a bite out of my profits. I haven't sent in any inventory in well over a month because I'm planning on getting out of the Amazon FBA program once my stuff is all sold. I have about 230 items still left in my inventory to sell before I'm completely through. The sales tax issue turned out to be more than I could handle.
With all the major holidays coming up, I'm ready to focus more on selling for Amazon rather than selling on Amazon. Amazon Associates is where the bulk of my affiliate earnings come in from, so I need to work on getting more blog posts published so that I can make the most of the season like I did last year.
WritEdge paid a little early this month, I got mine on Friday, the 8th. I made a total of $5.09 for the views I received to my articles in the month of July. That's a little less than what I made last month but it's $5 more dollars than I had.
In addition to my paid views from WritEdge, I also had some affiliate sales as well. I made 4 sales on Amazon and 1 sale for Pajama Affiliates last month through my links on WritEdge. Not too shabby!
I made a total of $32.00 in commission for selling the Pajama Affiliates program through Robin Cockrell. This was for commission earned in June. I write articles on my blog and WritEge about working from home and sometimes I drop in my link to the Pajama Affiliate program because it's perfect for newbies who have no idea where to start.
You can see what I'm talking about here (see image above). Notice I have 251 clicks but only 4 sales, that's not a good conversion but I'm working on it. It takes practice learning to sell something a different way, but I know it works when it's done right. I did make four sales though and that's awesome! I will be working hard to fine tune it over the next few months to see if I can raise my conversion.
