What is Share a Sale?
Share-a-Sale is an Affiliate program that you can join to sell things for a variety of different online merchants. They have a lot of different merchants in their program, you must sign up for each of their merchants separately, approval is up to the merchant. Your commission payments will be paid from Share-a-Sale from these various merchants you are promoting on your blogs. There are over 3000+ merchants to choose from, right now I am signed up with about 5 different ones, but the most profitable has been Wayfair.com. They sell a large variety of products like Amazon does. Depending on your niche, you might be able to find something to help monetize your blog.
August 2013 Commissions Paid
For the month of August 2013, I made $111.10 on Share-a-Sale. All the sales were through the merchant WayFair. I used these links on my Squidoo lenses and Zujava leaves as well as on my own personal blogs. $111.10 is acutally a really good month, I don't think I have ever sold that much in a single money with Share-a-Sale before August 2013.
I was paid for the month of June 2013 on September 15, 2013 in the amount of $16.14, minus the Paypal fee of $0.32. That is $16.40 decrease from last month, over 100% for you math whiz kids. I am just starting out Zujava so I don't expect much. I have 34 leaves, I didn't make anything new. It's a little discouraging at the Zu sometimes because I made more on Bubblews in a month after not even visiting or writing much. Next month should fair better, I have a good one that is trendy right now.
My Top ZQ is ranked #63 overall.
Total Leaves: 34
I cashed out my 4th payout on August 21, 2013 and I did not go back to Bubblews for a couple weeks while I caught up on other work and attended a wedding out of state. I was very shocked that I had almost $20 in my bank from posts that had been visited and commented on while I was away. That was more than I made on Zujava and it was totally unexpected. I cashed out my 5th payout on September 12, 2013 in the amount of $25.24 USD with only 8 posts. I received the email that I would be paid on September 15, 2013. The money is currently pending in my paypal for payout. I'm pretty excited about that!
5th Payout from Bubblews
I got myself a payout finally from Zazzle, this one is two months of earnings combined because I didn't make the payout threshold of $50 last month. No big deal. Zazzle is just a little side project mostly so I don't really count heavily on the income but every little bit always helps right? This month I received $80.23 in my Paypal account. If you get any money from Zazzle, it will be paid to you on the 15th of the month unless the 15th is a Saturday or Sunday, then you will get it the weekday prior to the 15th.
Squidoo paid out a little early this month. I made a grand total of $639.58 that's $200 LESS than last month and it just seems to be spiraling down by the looks of the ad revenue the site is generating. I'm grateful for every last dime, but it is a little sad watching my income on Squidoo dwindle away. I'm hopeful though for the personal sites that I have built. I know it takes time but those sites are coming along really well and starting to generate income.
Now for the bread and butter. My main income comes from what I earn on Amazon Associates. The majority of my income right now is coming from Squidoo lenses right now, but I am working towards being a sole blogger. I won't be building anymore lenses, only blog posts for my own websites.
Because Squidoo traffic has tanked considerable from last year, my earnings are down $550 dollars from last August (2012). That's not terrible, I actually thought it was a lot worse.
I sold 888 items in August 2013. Of those 888 items, 835 of the shipped. This could be because some of them were digital orders, like Kindle books and other downloadable items.
Amazon pays me every 60 days, so I will receive this money by November 1st (probably October 31st).
With Christmas coming I hope to see a lot more sales but the way traffic is looking, I'm not so sure? Squidoo is not looking good right now but I'm very grateful that I have a Toy Blog to fall back. The majority of Christmas sales will be toys for me, that's the way it's been the last two years. Once Christmas is over, I will work harder on putting more effort into my other blogs.
The reason my earnings are down by 25% from last August is right here. Rather than explain it, I will just show you this picture which I think explains it better. Squidoo is the PURPLE line, this is a Quantcast report over the last year. As you can see, traffic has tanked considerable on Squidoo, so I'm blessed to making any money at all. Proof that God is still taking care of me, I hope to see things get better as we go into the busy holiday season but you never know? Taking a look at this chart, it's just hard to tell what will happen with my income on Squidoo.
