Many of you may remember my rant about Zujava losing their Amazon Associates account last year? Right after Squidoo announced it was selling out to SnubPages, Zujava announced they lost their Amazon Affiliation for some unknown reason. Well, I'm happy to report, that they finally did send my missing Amazon earnings from those two months! It was an unexpected surprise to say the least!
I made $47.82 for my June and July 2014 commissions through their site. They still do not have Amazon anymore but at least I got my back pay that I earned. I took down most of my work from their site and I only have a few pages left that don't use Amazon. I won't be building anything new on their site, I've pretty much been keeping my best content on my own websites these days. I use WritEdge for random articles that don't fit my niches but for the most part, I stay away from free sites altogether now.
Zujava announced in August that they lost their Amazon Associates account and that we would NOT be paid for any money that we had earned from May 2014 and forward. All the sales commissions I had earned on their site from May - August 2014 were now gone just like that! While the reason they lost their account is unclear, the reality of not getting paid was crystal clear! Now all I get paid is ad revenue, which on Zujava doesn't amount to more than a buck or two each month.
I now make a dollar a month on Zujava!
The Good Ol' Days are Gone! Bye-Bye Zujava Income!
I'm going to miss the money I used to make there but hopefully once I move all the content off their site and onto one of mine, I'll be able to make up for the loss in due time.
WOW! What a week of news for the online writing community, first Squidoo shuts its doors and now I find out that Zujava has lost their Amazon Associates account. Now I make about $200 a month on Zujava between my affiliate income from them and my Share-a-sale commissions so that was a little bit of a blow to the gut. I will still get to keep whatever I made on Share-a-Sale through my own links but anything I had on Zujava through their Amazon links is gone. Yep! GONE! I won't be getting paid for my sales that I made for the month of May until now. Holy turd buckets Batman, that sucks!
What? No Payments! That Sucks!
Time to hop up on that hamster wheel again...?
Zujava says they won't be going anywhere but I'm not really sure how they can sustain themselves without their biggest affiliate income? As far as my Zujava leaves, I plan to hop up on the hamster wheel and start moving all my leaves off their site... I hate to do it but they will probably end up tanking like Squidoo did. I will move a lot of my content over to my blogs and delete whatever I don't need.
After Squidoo's torture for the last two years and now Zujava is headed down the same path, I'm going to be staying off these types of sites. It always sucks not getting paid from a website, I was doing pretty good with my Zujava earnings every month, but at least its not enough to really sink my business! I will continue to work on my own websites and towards building multiple streams of income so that when stuff like this happens, I'm still up and running in other places.
Zujava sent out July payments for the month of April. I did pretty good, I'm always happy to take home an extra $86.94. That's a little less than I made last month but I never know how much I'm going to make at Zujava. Zujava is one of those places that I went right after Squidoo took a nose dive and it really has paid off nicely.
I need to get over to Zujava and do some updating but it just hasn't been in the schedule lately.
Zujava paid! Hooray! I made a total of $115.11 for the month of March, which was paid out in June 2014. That's $42 more than last month, I'm happy about that. I wasn't sure what to expect with Zujava, I never really know how much I made over there until payday and even then, there is no breakdown of earnings given per leaf. I have some referrals that I'm supposed to be earning 20% from but with no breakdown of earnings, it's hard to know. I'm not a fan of their system but I'm a huge fan of paydays that result in a $100 or more! Yippee! I have no idea what next month will look like - it's always a surprise at the Zu.
I'm so busy with FBA that I don't have a lot of time right now. Once I get over the learning curve, I will have more time to focus on writing sites like these. Maybe not this one specifically but I miss writing for WritEdge, the community is awesome, they pay me per view and the owners are pretty bad ass in my opinion. I don't want FBA to consume my life because writing really is my passion, having a voice is more important to me than having a store on Amazon, although I'm grateful to do both. Having multiple streams of income is also important, in case one goes down - and that has happened to me in the past.
Zujava paid a day earlier than usual, that was nice. I made a total of $103.68 for January 2014 earnings. That was (82.71) less than last month because last month was Christmas (December) money, this month is January 2014 earnings which tends to be a lot lower.
I'm very proud to make over $100 in any month there because if I'm being totally honest, it feels like Zujava couldn't hit traffic in rush hour (in the middle of Los Angeles). It definitely takes a lot longer to get some search engine traffic if your topic isn't hot, hot, hot!
Zujava paid us 5 days earlier than expected. Normally, they always pay on or very close to the 15th of the month. This month was Christmas earnings, so it was higher than expected. I made $186.39 in the month of December, it was about $20 higher than last month's total. I don't expect next month to be as high, this month's pay was for December 2013 earnings and Christmas season tends to pay more than January in general. We'll see! I'm grateful for Zujava, it's a money that really helps out. In addition to Zujava, WritEdge also sent payment for their pay per view trial in February. It was a good money day all around!
Zujava paid a day early! That was super cool! I made a total of $169.53 for earnings in November 2013. I'm really excited about that, I haven't been on the site much so any money is an unexpected blessing. I made $161.56 last month from Zujava and that was totally unexpected too. I would write more at Zujava but I'm not much of a forum personality and that seems to be where the majority of the community hangs out. The Facebook page is all crickets and cobwebs and that's where I spend most of my time outside of Pinterest. It's a shame, I hope to get more into later on as the year progresses.
I wish Zujava would upgrade the dashboard features to actually show you what you earned, right now, I have no clue what I will make each month because the figures on the dash reflect the total amount a leaf has made. I have no clue if I'm getting 60% of my sales and 20% of my referrals and I couldn't tell you what the tiers paid? I really don't like that, maybe someone knows a better way to get these numbers?
In addition to Squidoo, Zujava also paid out today! Cool! I made a total of $161.56, that's pretty good for Zujava because I don't usually make much there. I have about 30+ leaves, give or take a couple. I made about $90 less in December. I drive a lot of traffic from Pinterest to my Zujava pages myself. I also use links contextually in some things on my blog that might be relevant. I think most of my traffic is Pinterest though. Nice images do all the talking for some people I guess.
Zujava paid about 3 hours early this month, I made a total of $70.14 minus the PayPal fee of $1.00. That is a significant decrease from last month but I knew it was coming. I made more sales in August than I did in September on Zujava. Next month should be higher than this month but it's so hard to tell.
I had higher hopes for Zujava but it is what it is. I was apologizing to my friend Lauren today because Zujava has turned out to be less than rewarding for her and I was the one who referred her there. My motivation to write there has definitely tapered off, I don't think I've written anything there in four months. I like getting the spare change each month, most definitely but I don't see a future there for the Zu and I. That could change but for now, I have no hard plans for Zujava in 2014 like I do for other sites and my own blogs.
I got my Zujava earnings and EARLY to boot! It's rare when they pay early so I'm pretty happy about it. I was wondering how much I was going to get this month, I knew it would be at least $100 but it's hard to tell over there because the dashboard doesn't reflect your earnings from month to month. I had a $116 increase over last months earnings. I don't think next month will be quite this high though.
I got the email late last night that Zujava had paid, that was cool! I made a total of $69.44 minus $1.00 for the PayPal fee. $68.44 was deposited in my Paypal account from Zujava at about 10:00pm on 10/14/2013. That's $53.30 more than I made last month, so that's a good thing. I'm still unaware of the payment breakdown at Zujava, sure wish they would send more details so I know what the heck I've been paid for without having to manually go through the sales for each leaf myself, but that's an email for another day I guess.
I haven't made anything new at Zujava, I'm still having trust issues with sites I don't own. I am happy to see that I am earnings and the earnings did increase this month. That's a good thing and I'm grateful for it.
I was paid for the month of June 2013 on September 15, 2013 in the amount of $16.14, minus the Paypal fee of $0.32. That is $16.40 decrease from last month, over 100% for you math whiz kids. I am just starting out Zujava so I don't expect much. I have 34 leaves, I didn't make anything new. It's a little discouraging at the Zu sometimes because I made more on Bubblews in a month after not even visiting or writing much. Next month should fair better, I have a good one that is trendy right now.
My Top ZQ is ranked #63 overall.
Total Leaves: 34
Feburary 2013 I started writing at a site similar to Squidoo called Zujava. It's very similar to Squidoo in many aspects, even some of the same people are there too (not necessarily a good thing). I love that the pages are so easy to build, you can quickly set up a single page website in minutes and begin filling it with content.
Creating a page is easy because it has the same module system that you are used to seeing at sites like Squidoo and Hubpages. No HTML experience is necessary at all. There is a rich text editor that makes formatting really easily in comparison to other sites.
Last year I made a lot of money writing for Squidoo but since they have changed their policy like I change my underwear, I've decided to seek other places to write and that's how I came across Zujava. I had actually signed up in 2012 but I never did anything with it because I was doing so well on Squidoo, that was probably a mistake considering I didn't spread myself out enough. I had way too many eggs in one basket and this year I'm paying for it.
My Earnings to Date On Zujava
Okay, here is the meat and potatoes, the part you care about right? I started writing at Zujava in late February 2013. It was at the same time that Squidoo started locking lenses and filtering our pages. I was looking for another place to run! So here are my first few months earnings from Zujava. I will continue to post them every month so you can see how much I am earning form this site. This way you can determine if it's worth it to you to write here or not.
How Do I Earn At Zujava
I earn at Zujava by finding keywords for things I can sell on Amazon (for the most part). I find a handful of good keywords using Jaaxy and then I write a lot of good content using those keywords and add products. It's a hit and miss with some topics at the Zu, not all of mine have taken off but the ones that have are working out nicely. The trick to earning an income there is in volume, I'm going to need a lot more pages, I currently have 32 (leaves). The more you have, the better your chances of making more, but you also have to keep them updated too, which can be hard to keep up with. Stay tuned to see how much I earn next month on Zujava.
